Champion, Four Tet, Skrillex, and Naisha have released their hypnotic new single, “Talk To Me.”
Released at the top of the month via Disorder and Capitol Records, the bouncy club track sees the trio of electronic luminaries and the interdisciplinary singer-songwriter unite to rework Champion and Four Tet’s 2016 limited release single, “Flip Side,”—this time peppered with even more wobbly, distorted basslines, bold sound design, and infectious hip-hop vocals from Naisha.
The superpowered collaboration marks a crowning moment for Champion on the heels of the garage and UK funky trailblazer’s biggest year yet.
Since signing with Disorder in June, the British-Jamaican producer and DJ has delivered an astonishing run of releases, including underground hits like “We Multiply” with Bushbaby and Killa P and “International Man” with Bakey and Jamakabi, a high-profile bassline house remix of Caribou’s “Broke My Heart,” and a link-up with Joy Anonymous on their Joyous People EP.
On the live performance front, Champion’s landmark 2024 was capped off with a massive B2B with Caribou’s Daphni alias in support of Four Tet at DRUMSHEDS earlier this month, following even more major appearances at Glastonbury, London’s Finsbury Park, and his first-ever residency at Amnesia Ibiza.
An unsung hero of the UK underground for over a decade, Champion began DJing at raves as young as 14. Since bursting onto the scene with his seminal UK funky hit, “Tribal Affair” in 2011, he’s risen to the top of the country’s clubbing landscape and collaborated with huge names like MNEK, Becky Hill, Dizzee Rascal, and more.
More high-powered Champion collaborations with two of UK garage’s most in-demand producers, Sammy Virji and Interplanetary Criminal, are on the way soon, according to Disorder.
