deadmau5’s iconic 2007 hit, “Jaded,” is available on digital streaming platforms for the first time ever.
Over 17 years after the track’s original limited vinyl release, the fan-favorite progressive house tune was re-released on mau5trap earlier this month as part of deadmau5’s new Jaded EP package.
Alongside the previously elusive original record, which launched the Canadian DJ and producer’s influential label almost two decades ago, the four-track EP features deadmau5’s new 12-minute “Re_Jaded” edit of the original, an ambient mix, and a new remix with a techno twist from rising melodic producer Volaris.
“‘Jaded’ was one of the first tunes that got me fully into progressive house. It is such an infectious tune, when I got asked to remix it, I was nervous—as what can you do to an already huge and iconic record?” Volaris said in a press release. “I’ve made so many versions of this remix as I really wanted to do it justice. Ultimately, this isn’t here to compete with the original, as nothing ever will, but I hope you like my take on this iconic tune.”
Volaris’ “Jaded” remix is the latest in a series of classics from deadmau5’s famous catalog to receive the remix treatment from today’s top producers, following respective remixes of “Strobe,” “Not Exactly,” “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff,” and “I Remember” by Layton Giordani, Rebūke, Jauz, and John Summit.
