Deorro is heating up the holiday season with his new single, “Querido Santa Claus.”
The Mexican-American DJ and producer shared the festive Spanish-language EDM track today, giving fans an early Christmas gift and kickstarting what’s sure to be an extra celebratory holiday season for the artist, who grabbed his first-ever Latin Grammy nomination in September.
Marrying traditional guitar, trumpets and jungle bells with thumping beats, “Querido Santa Claus” offers a fresh take on classic holiday music, unfolding from the perspective of a young boy writing a letter to Saint Nick himself.
Singing his letter, which mocks his family members as he asks Santa for the gifts he thinks would suit them best, the boy’s voice brings a wholesome charm to the high-energy beat that’ll bring out your inner child this holiday season.
Deorro’s signature blend of Latin music and EDM reached even higher heights this year. After earning his first Latin Grammy nod for “BAMBOLE” with Vikina, the veteran producer—real name Erick Orrosquieta—delivered a dazzling performance of the nominated track at the awards ceremony alongside his collaborator.
He’s still tearing it up on the touring circuit too, having played major gigs such as EDC Orlando, Baja Beach Fest, North Coast Music Festival, and even a soccer match for the Mexican National Team in Arlington, Texas, this year.
Deorro will close out the year with a New Year’s Eve performance at Insomniac’s Countdown NYE in San Bernardino, California, and begin 2025 with a set at the first edition of EDC Thailand in January.
