New Lady Gaga Album Inspired By Industrial Dance Music, Features Gesaffelstein

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga revealed that her newest album draws influence from industrial dance music in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times.

Discussing a multitude of musical influences behind her as yet unnamed seventh studio album, ranging from surf-punk to New Orleans jazz, Gaga cited the leftfield electronic genre as another inspiration on “LG7” and hinted that the project features several electronic artists, including French midtempo maestro Gesaffelstein.

“I loved collaborating with all the DJs and Gesaffelstein on my new album,” Gaga said. “I loved learning about industrial music and about all the different crevices of electronic music, and then I loved working with Bruno [Mars]. One of the things I’ve probably been judged for in my career was not sticking to one thing. But not sticking to one thing is my life force.”

“[The album] leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt,” she continued. “And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love.”

The project is reportedly set for release in February, though an official release date has not yet been announced. Its lead single, “Disease,” arrived in October, followed by “Die With A Smile,” a collaboration with Bruno Mars that became the fastest song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify in November.

The forthcoming LP will mark Gaga’s first full-length solo album since 2020’s Chromatica, which also featured dance music influence across productions from artists like Skrillex, Axwell, Boys Noize, and Tchami.

In November, Lady Gaga was revealed as a headliner for the 2025 edition of Coachella, where she’ll perform alongside Green Day, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Charli XCX, Mau P, Keinemusik, Sara Landry and more.
