Truth Announce New Deadbeats EP, ‘Badman’

Truth

Truth have set the release date for their first new tunes of 2025.

Dubstep’s leading Kiwis announced on social media today that their new Badman EP will arrive on Deadbeats this Friday, January 10, marking their first release on Zeds Dead’s famous label.

Featuring four staple tracks from the pioneering New Zealand duo’s recent run of year-end shows, the project is said to span a “sonic journey” of diverse sounds, according to Truth, including heavily distorted bass riffs on “Real Badman,” stomping percussion on “The Cure,” a dash of “garage inspired grime” on “None of Dem,” and the group’s trademark deep bass sound on “Losing My Mind.”

“We’ve been working on this one for a while, and we hope you love it as much as we do!” producers Andre Fernandez and Tristan Roake wrote on Instagram today.

Badman follows Truth’s latest single, “The Illuminated,” which landed on the group’s own Deep Dark & Dangerous label in late November.

After shaping the sound in its infancy with releases on DEEP MEDi and Aquatic Lab, and earning early support from genre legends like Mala and Skream, the duo has spent nearly the last two decades as one of dubstep’s most revered producer-DJ pairings, spearheading a new wave of low-end bass with their revered Deep Dark & Dangerous imprint.

Now, they’ll break away from their own imprint to bring their bone-rattling sub-bass to North America’s prominent bass label with both their and Deadbeats’ first release of 2025, following a massive 2024 that saw Truth celebrate 10 years of Deep Dark & Dangerous and make major appearances at Red Rocks, Shambhala, Hulaween, and more.

So far for 2025, Truth are slated for North American performances at Subtronics’ Cyclops Armory takeover in Minnesota and Northern California’s Untz Festival, and will join Deadbeats bosses Zeds Dead on their upcoming album tour this spring.
