Solomun and Skrillex have teamed up to release their first-ever collaborative single, “Rumpta.”
The awaited collab from the pair of industry heavyweights arrives on Solomun’s Diynamic Music today after nearly six months of buzz, built across key plays at several of the label boss’ standout solo shows earlier this year.
Fusing Solomun’s clean, minimal house sound with Skrillex’s famously robotic production style in a blender of bounding basslines, distorted fills, and infectious vocal hooks, the track first surfaced during Solomun’s return to Tehmplo Tulum in January. Its legend continued to grow in two more sold-out nights at London’s famous Alexandra Palace the next month, and by the time the German-Bosnian artist played EDC Las Vegas in May, “Rumpta” landed as one of the anticipated set’s most defining moments.
Now, the coveted ID lands just days before another massive link-up between the Ibiza legend and electronic production icon. On July 5, Skrillex and Solomun will share the decks at Solomun’s long-running +1 residency at Pacha Ibiza. Skrillex also appeared as a special guest at the party last season, where their B2B went down as one of the year’s best and served as a catalyst for their studio partnership on “Rumpta.”
