It’s time to take your shot—The world’s only no-experience-necessary DJ competition and music academy is back for an even bigger second season in the U.S.
Your Shot, the competition and educational opportunity for aspiring DJs of all backgrounds, today announced that its 2026 season will expand from two cities to four, adding new editions in Denver and Miami alongside returning programs in Los Angeles and New York.
For over a decade, the Australian-born event has championed the democratization of DJ culture by removing traditional barriers to entry and welcoming participants regardless of their background, income, and, most importantly, experience level. According to organizers, the idea is to inspire creativity, self-confidence, inclusion, and community, in would-be artists who may never have considered stepping behind the decks.
Worthy participants are invited into Your Shot’s hands-on training and mentorship program, with two winners selected to perform at a weekend showcase in each city. This year, they’ll also receive a coveted opening slot at F1 Las Vegas or Insomniac’s EDSea, with more to be announced.
Last year’s inaugural U.S. edition welcomed over 500 first-time DJs in to its training program ahead of two showcase weekends that drew over 10,000 attendees in Los Angeles and New York.
After registration, prospective participants get the chance to tell their music story at one of several in-person selection events taking place in August and September. Those chosen will embark on a six-week journey teaching the fundamentals of mixing, music selection, and live performance on top of the line AlphaTheta and Sony equipment, surrounded by a community of like-minded music lovers.
This year’s competition advisors include renowned artist and FEMME HOUSE co-founder LP Giobbi, Vibee president Harvey Cohen, and The Circuit Group, the management company behind artists like Chris Lake and FISHER.
