Italy’s FuturFestival is hosting its first edition in Mexico this fall.
The long-running house and techno event, held annually at Turin’s Parco Dora, will bring a second satellite edition to Monterrey’s Parque Fundidora on November 13-14, organizers announced yesterday. The Mexican edition will mark FuturFestival’s first festival held outside of Europe.
FuturFestival’s flagship edition in Italy was founded in 2009 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Italy’s futurism movement. Since then, it has grown into one of the most influential festivals in the global house and techno scene. Now, organizers say the new edition in Mexico brings together two cities and two spaces that share a unique history.
Both festival venues are former industrial sites that have found new life as event spaces and incubators of art and culture. Parco Dora was once a factory complex that produced steel for Fiat and Michelin, where retired infrastructure provides an otherworldly aesthetic for the brand’s flagship Kappa FuturFestival, while Parque Fundidora sits on the former site of the Monterrey Foundry, the first steel and iron foundry in Latin America.
FuturFestival’s first Mexican edition will host performances from 56 artists, including 14 B2B sets and four Mexican debuts. The bill is led by legendary players such as Carl Craig, Moodymann, Dixon, Âme, Damian Lazarus, Maceo Plex, Tiga, Skream, FJAAK, and Vintage Culture, alongside top names of today, such as Diplo, Paco Osuna, DJ Holographic, Echonomist, Cloonee, KI/KI, Lilly Palmer, and many more.
Collaborative sets will come from Carl Craig B2B Moodymann, Âme B2B Marcel Dettmann, Maceo Plex B2B Tiga, Dennis Cruz B2B DJ Tennis, Francis Mercier B2B Mahmut Orhan, and Adiel B2B Quest, among others. Check out the full lineup below.
In partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and the ecological engineering organization Nat5, a percentage of each ticket sold will support nature regeneration projects in the region.
