Barry Can’t Swim and Sammy Virji have teamed up to release their new single, “I Could Be Madonna.”
The joyous peak-time tune arrives today on Barry’s Earths Only Paradise label in partnership with Atlantic Records, combining the talents of two of Britain’s leading dance exports in a party-starting homage to classic UKG.
Marking their first official studio collaboration, the track follows Barry’s appearance at Virji’s Alexandra Palace headline show in April, where the pair came together for a surprise B2B before linking up in the studio.
It’s the latest of several new tunes from Barry Can’t Swim—born Joshua Mainnie—after the Edinburgh-hailing producer-DJ released his French touch-inspired single, “Dance Dance Dance,” in July and his disco-rooted groove, “Return To Bhibo,” in May.
Virji, meanwhile, is still riding high off the release of his sophomore album, Same Day Cleaning. Since its release in September 2025, the London-based artist has delivered collaborations with Fred again.. such as “Talk of the Town” and “Winny,” and solicited remixes of album tracks from the likes of BAKEY, Malugi, Douvelle19, and Four Tet.
