Sara Landry has released her sophomore album, ‘Divine Intervention.’
Described as “a fourteen-track ritual of rebirth,” the hard techno high priestess’ second full-length LP arrives today, 10 months in the making, via her own HEKATE label, marking the awaited follow-up to her acclaimed 2024 debut, ‘Spiritual Driveby.’
Where her first album announced her arrival, Landry’s second is a reckoning, according to a press release, coming face to face with “the notion that the paths we don’t choose are often the ones that save us.”
Written between shows on her relentless touring schedule, the album is a product of the philosophy it is titled after. Collabs became solo statements, and planned sessions for one track ended up yielding others, resulting in a wide-ranging body of work unlike anything she’s done before.
“Sometimes, you think you’re going in a certain direction, and the powers or factors that be end up pulling you a completely different way. It might not make sense at the time, but when you look back, you realize that rejection is redirection,” Landry said in a statement.
She continued: “This album is a journey of self-discovery—over the past few years, I’ve experienced so many moments where the fates intervened—this is my sonic exploration of those experiences. I am so proud of it, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it on the dance floor.”
Alongside previously released singles “Hands Up,” “Shake That,” “Angel Dust,” “Interesting,” “Energy,” and “Awakening,” the album features eight new titles: “Divine Intervention,” “Public,” “Get Inside,” “Little Taste,” “Expansion,” “Decon,” “I Am,” and “Feel 4 U.” Collaborators on the project include Alt8, Alex Farell, SIKOTI, O.MMY, Ali James, Aaron Hibell, Godtripper, and Saint Monet.
On Wednesday, Ultra Miami confirmed that Landry’s new Divine Intervention album show will make its U.S. debut at the festival this March. The album lands one week after Landry’s headline debut at Red Rocks last weekend, kicking off a fall tour that will see her play festivals and club venues in Edmonton, Seattle, Mexico City, her home city of Austin, Boston, and Charlotte ahead of a New Year’s Eve finish in San Diego.
