What a night! Gareth Emery brought his Electric For Life tour to Los Angeles on Saturday. The event was held at The Shrine Amphitheater and it was one for the books. Emery played for 6 hours straight – from open to close. This was the longest set he’s ever played in the United States! He started his set with a chill, downtempo vibe before transitioning to his hits. Emery ran through nearly every song he’s ever made, and it was full of feels. The whole crowd sang along when he dropped one of his latest tracks, “Soldier.” I was surprised he didn’t have his sister, Roxanne, perform live.
One of the highlights was the crowd cheering as Emma Hewitt came on stage to perform. Everyone was singing along with her, it was quite a moment. Another favorite moment was everyone singing along to Emery’s hit, “You,” as the lyrics streamed on the giant LED screens. The lasers and lights were on point all night. I remember when the lasers first came on – and drew a big reaction from the crowd. They filled The Shrine.. blasting in all directions. The graphics on the giant LED screens were mesmerizing!
Emery seamlessly blended trance and house music all night long and kept everyone dancing until the final song. If you missed out, don’t worry. Emery will be back in Los Angeles on December 17th. He will be headlining the annual “Spark of Love” toy drive which will be held at Exchange LA. Admission is $20 at the door, or you can bring an unwrapped toy of equal value to enter the event. Spark of Love is a toy drive and distribution initiative that includes a number of related holiday events benefiting foster youth and caregivers.
