A few things will undoubtedly come to mind when most trance music fanatics think of the genre: Armin Van Buuren and “A State of Trance.” Armin van Buuren, one of the iconic trance music producers of our time, has celebrated the beloved genre with his iconic weekly radio show, “A State of Trance.” The show has recently passed a milestone of 1,000 episodes and is now broadcasted around the world to nearly 100 FM radio stations in over 80 countries. It’s a huge accomplishment for Armin as he really embodies the theme of his new accompanying A State of Trance (ASOT) tour, “Turn the world into a dancefloor.”
On top of the incredible success of the radio show, Armin has toured ASOT shows in some of the biggest venues and festivals in the world. He’s got an incredible knack for bringing people together, and his sets connect with trance music fans of all generations, both new and old. The ASOT brand is truly a remarkable example of what happens when a DJ, Producer, and Philanthropist, like Armin can really showcase the world. It’s an embodiment of something bigger than himself.
A massive celebration is happening with the ASOT tour, with stops already announced in Los Angeles, Krakow, The Netherlands, and Miami. However, the Miami stop particularly sticks out as it’s being celebrated at Ultra Music Festival, which has hosted the staple trance brand for 10 iconic years.
This year, after two delays due to the pandemic, Ultra Music Festival will return to its home in Downtown Miami where dance music fans from across the globe will share a toast to Armin’s massive accomplishments with ASOT. Ultra truly is an amalgamation of so many different cultures and backgrounds, that it only feels appropriate to celebrate the show’s incredible history at this legendary location.
When we asked about this momentous occasion, Armin told EDM Maniac exclusively:
“So happy to be back at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. I’ve been able to perform here for well over a decade now – I think my first time was in 2009 and the debut of the ASOT stage a few years later – and I’ve always felt that incredible buzz the moment I got asked to play there again. Ultra to me is, in one word, amazing. Amazing stages, amazing vibe, and fans so great that same word barely does them justice. It’s always packed with incredible artists I love playing alongside, and I’m psyched to make this occasion the most memorable edition yet.”
Armin has also shared with us a very special playlist celebrating 10 years of ASOT X Ultra, which you can stream below. The playlist features some of Armin’s favorites over the years and is the perfect setup for the 10th anniversary going down in just a few weeks. This year, Armin will bring along Aly & Fila, Andrew Rayel, Avira, Gareth Emery, Sander van Doorn, and Vini Vici. Tickets are completely sold-out.
