Aston Martin’s Formula One team and Defected Records are teaming up for an exclusive music and merch pop-up in London this weekend.
As part of Aston Martin Aramco’s I / AM fan experience, the Defected DROP will take over 19 D’Arblay Street in Soho for three days of programming from August 27-30, celebrating “the shared energy and passion of music and F1,” according to a press release.
Race fans and house heads alike are invited to stop by the label’s London DStore pop-up to shop highly sought-after vinyl and merch, and take part in the Formula One team’s new I / AM DROPS series, a culture-focused events program designed around limited streetwear releases.
Available for purchase online and in-store, the Defected DROP features a curated selection of co-created pieces, including a bespoke record box and vinyl collection inspired by the campaign, as well as a limited-edition run of T-shirts.
Live programming kicks off tomorrow with a FANCOM Panel hosted by Saatchi and a DJ set from legendary UK house duo The Shapeshifters. On Friday, the pop-up will host DJ mixing lessons designed for and led by FLINTA* individuals, and a pop-up party by Defected Radio host Monki and friends.
Throughout the rest of the weekend, activations include a sober coffee rave hosted by GRIND and longtime friend of the label Sam Divine, and a surprise day party featuring a special guest DJ on Saturday, while Sunday features a Run Club warm-up before an afternoon party with several of Defected’s resident DJs.
The Defected DROP marks Aston Martin Aramco’s latest foray into the music space after previously collaborating with artists like Tems, The Rolling Stones, Dave, Dom Dolla, and Barry Can’t Swim.
