ATLiens have announced their debut album, Leaving The World Behind, and an ensuing North American album tour.
The mysteriously masked bass music duo shared a video trailer for the new project on social media last week alongside the caption, “LEAVING THE WORLD BEHIND. OUR DEBUT ALBUM.”
In a departure from the typically dark branding the group has coupled with its heavy dubstep projects through the years, the contemplative video pairs a spoken monologue about “embracing the mystery” of life’s journey with a variety of nature and travel footage, offering a sneak peek into the themes fans can expect to encounter on the group’s forthcoming opus.
ATLiens first teased the new album two weeks ago with another cryptic social media post featuring the caption “First album finished” and the previously mysterious acronym “LTWB.” The group has not yet revealed a release date for Leaving The World Behind.
The album hype continues today with the rollout of ATLiens’ 21-date “Leaving The World Behind Tour,” which will visit cities like Minneapolis, Chicago, Tampa, New York, Los Angeles, and more from November 2024 to March 2024.
The Atlanta-based duo, known for their unique fusion of trap, dubstep, and experimental bass on hits like “Alchemy” and “Fading Out,” will be joined by a huge roster of supporting artists throughout the tour, including present-day dubstep and trap heroes like Barely Alive, FuntCase, Flosstradamus, GHENGAR, Mersiv, and Riot Ten. Lineups vary by date. Check out the complete list of shows below.
The new album and tour announcement comes in the midst of a headline-grabbing trademark infringement lawsuit launched against ATLiens by legendary hip-hop group OutKast. The duo of fellow Atlanta artists André 3000 and Big Boi alleges that the electronic group, which shares a name with OutKast’s 1996 album, ATLiens, and its namesake single, is confusing fans by using the name.
Pre-sale ticket access for ATLiens’ “Leaving The World Behind Tour” has begun. General on-sale will begin this Friday, September 13, at 10AM PT. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit atliensofficial.com.
