Audius has officially launched its music marketplace in beta, allowing more than six million fans to support their favorite artists with direct payments.
Both artists and the purchaser can also now earn 1 $AUDIO token per $1 they spend on music from their favorite artists, with payments going through instantly, balancing the rewards between listener and producer.
With over one million tracks from 250,000 artists, the decentralized music streaming platform is bridging the gap between listener and creator and promises to add even more hits via the new partnership with Distrokid, one of the largest distributors of dance music.
Now artists and labels on the platform have greater autonomy over their music, content, and price, allowing them to produce as freely as they like, not to mention rewards for their biggest fans like direct messaging, unreleased music, bonus content, stems, and more.
Trance label and tastemaker Anjunabeats has a strong following on Audius, with their head of distribution and digital rights David Lapushner saying, “We here at Anjuna always put two things first: our artists and our fans.”
He continued, “While you will always be able to find Anjuna music across all DSPs, we look forward to working with Audius to monetize music on our terms, and provide our fans, our tight-knit Anjunafamily, with extra rewards, music, and more to thank them for their support.”
There are over 500 artists on the Unlockable Content waitlist already in less than a week and Audius will be inviting new artists to join the beta program every Wednesday.
Empowerment from the platform has already been crucial for artist stability as a whole.
Founder/CEO of Coop Records Cooper Turley also stated, “Audius is creating new ways for emerging artists to make a living off their music. This is the first step towards a world where Audius can be the primary place for independent artists to sustain themselves on the back of their biggest supporters.
