Beatport Launches Latin Electronic As Standalone Genre Category

Beatport Latin Electronic

Beatport has officially launched Latin Electronic as a standalone genre.

The new category brings together a range of styles shaping Latin America’s presence in global club music, creating a centralized space for both discovery and distribution on the digital dance music store. Launched yesterday, the category’s dedicated page features four core sub-genres: Tribal and Guaracha, Electronic Cumbia, Moombahton, and Raptor House.

While newly defined on the platform, these sounds have developed over time through local scenes across Latin America and its diaspora. From reinterpretations of traditional rhythms to club-driven formats built for modern dance floors, each style reflects a different entry point into electronic production rooted in regional influence.

With this update, Beatport is structuring these genres under one umbrella, offering dedicated charts and increased visibility for the artists contributing to the broader Latin Electronic landscape.
