We might be in lockdown mode, but the electronic music community is keeping the tempo alive by bringing us a steady stream of new music, live streams, and online sessions over the last week. Beatport has announced Global Reconnect to bring you 24-hours of live sets from some of the top artists around the world. Beatport will be partnering with the live-stream platform Twitch to bring a marathon of non-stop music directly to your living room.
The series kicks off on Friday, March 27th at 1pm PST through Saturday, March 28th. The broadcast will feature 24 artists including techno legend Carl Cox, Bonobo, Nina Kraviz, Griz, RÜFÜS DU SOL, A-Trak, Nicole Moudaber, Chris Liebing, Nora En Pure, and many more. Each artist will be taking the stage from their own homes or studios to bring their music to the homes of fans that are currently sheltering in place.
According to Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels, “With so many of us sheltered in our homes, wanting to stay connected to the people and music that plays such a positive role in our lives, Beatport and the passionate DJ community we work with on a daily basis feel compelled to deliver a unique music experience directly into homes across the world.”
To further help the world during this time, viewers are able to make donations to a segment of the World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to benefit those on our front lines. During the broadcast, Beatport will be holding giveaways for donors randomly selected during the event
Join us as we kick-off the weekend and stand together in the fight for a better world. While we may not be at a festival, the love we have for electronic music continues to bind us as part of this global family. Head here to catch this amazing opportunity!
