Black Coffee Receiving Medical Attention For Injuries Sustained In “Severe Travel Accident”

Black Coffee has sustained injuries and is receiving medical attention following a “severe travel accident.”

A statement posted to Black Coffee’s Instagram page today explains that the incident occurred on a flight taking the Grammy-winning producer and DJ to his scheduled gig in Mar del Plata, a beachside city in Argentina.

“The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries,” reads the statement. “We can confirm that he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team.”

The South African dance music icon was scheduled to play at Damian LazarusDay Zero event in Tulum, Mexico, this Friday, January 12, ahead of another show with Pete Tong in Istanbul the following day.

“In respect of his privacy,” Black Coffee’s team has now requested “understanding and patience from the media and his fans” as the ordeal is sorted out, adding that the artist is “optimistic and recovering well.”

“He looks forward to being back with you all very soon,” reads the final line of the statement.
