Bonnaroo is going on hiatus next year.
After a difficult few years on the Farm, organizers confirmed in a statement posted to social media today that the Tennessee festival “will be taking a much-needed year off in 2027.”
“This wasn’t an easy decision, and not one we take lightly, but in our hearts, we know this break will only make Bonnaroo better,” they wrote. “We hope you’ll continue radiating positivity in your community throughout the year and thank you for loving this festival as much as we do.”
Though Bonnaroo’s 2026 edition went ahead as planned in June, weather-related cancellations continued at the long-running event’s latest runout, halting music for roughly four hours on Sunday due to heavy rain at its home in Manchester, Tennessee, and marking the festival’s third full or partial cancelation in six years.
In 2025, severe rain and flooding forced Bonnaroo to cancel its final two days of programming and send festivalgoers home early. In 2021, the festival was canceled before it started because of severe flooding after heavy rain from Hurricane Ida.
The ongoing weather challenges at Bonnaroo’s latest edition came in spite of several improvements organizers announced would help strengthen the Farm’s resilience to Mother Nature, namely improved drainage, over four miles of new roads, and 135 acres new grass.
“With limited time to recuperate from back to back years of storms, including the heavy rainstorm on Sunday this year, The Farm, particularly the main venue, needs a break to rest and recover,” organizers continued in their statement.
