Boomtown Festival, one of the UK’s most esteemed festivals for drum & bass, is keeping sustainability in mind as they confirm event dates and officially launch ticket sales for their highly anticipated 2024 edition: Chapter Three: Revolution of Imagination.
Boomtown 2024 will run from August 7-11 at its longtime home, the Matterley Estate, near Winchester. New for this year, the festival will provide discounted passes for those who “commit to arrive at the festival via public transport.”
These “Green Transport Citizenship” tickets start at £280 and also include free Wednesday arrival. After booking in advance, passes at this discounted price will be distributed to attendees on site after their shuttle or coach arrival has been validated.
Boomtown’s commitment to eco-conscious practices continues with their use of “Eco Bonds.” Boomtown’s Eco Bond is a £20 fee added to the price of a ticket that is “fully refunded on-site in exchange for bringing one full bag of mixed dry waste and sorting it at the Eco Bond hub.”
Reflecting on the origins of this year’s theme and its connection to Boomtown’s sustainability efforts, festival organizers shared a statement that reads:
“Last year, activist and writer Rob Hopkins delivered an inspirational talk at Boomtown HQ, highlighting the profound impact of envisioning a better future. At Boomtown, we possess a unique opportunity to bring that imagined future to life through the immersive Town we construct. We can envision a brighter future, and, more importantly, we can collectively build and share it with a community of 66,000 attendees in our temporary Town.”
For 2024, Boomtown’s expansive festival site will again comprise “nine distinct districts, each with its own theme streets, buildings and ‘vibrant’ residents.” A lineup announcement will come at a later date, but last year’s bill included acts like Andy C, Eats Everything, Sub Focus, and many more.
