Start early

The energy is already building with several official pre-parties and Breakaway-backed events happening across the Tampa Bay area and beyond in the weeks leading up to the main event. At select pre-parties, fans can also enter for a chance to secure free festival tickets.

The run continues this weekend with local DJs 7MODE, JANU, Room40, and Jaycob Jaymes at Red Thread in St. Petersburg on Friday, April 3, and Terry, Cintra, and 2Clutch at The Lounge in Sarasota on Saturday, April 4.

The celebration picks back up the following weekend with Varazo, Cobb, Phrisson, and other local artists at The Nook in St. Petersburg and a daytime pool party in Orlando with area promoter NFT Events on Friday, April 10. The day before the festival opens, Thursday, April 16, Breakaway is also supporting a mini-festival organized by local outfit House 850 at Ferg’s Sports Bar in St. Petersburg.

Getting there

Breakaway isn’t the first festival to set up shop in the lots on the north side of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ home stadium, and with good reason. The festival site is conveniently located less than a 15-minute drive from the Tampa International Airport and dozens of hotels, within an hour’s drive of five area colleges, and an hour-and-a-half drive from Orlando, giving traveling fans and locals a chance to catch some of the world’s biggest electronic acts.

Those who plan ahead can book a headache-free stay at one of over 30 partner hotels with Breakaway’s 2026 Travel Packages. Fans can bundle their ticket and hotel purchases for additional savings. For more information, visit breakawayfestival.com.

But to ensure you’re fully charged before and after the party, there are plenty of local restaurants and bars where fans can grab a bite or sip a pre-fest cocktail.

Located about a mile from the venue, International Plaza and Bay Street is an upscale shopping center with a variety of chain restaurants. Midtown Tampa is less than a 10-minute drive from the stadium with shops, open-air dining, and popular restaurants like Sunda New Asian and True Food Kitchen. Other popular nearby spots include Riveters sports bar, Cuban eats at La Teresita, and craft brews at Cigar City Brewing.

Downtown, the Tampa Riverwalk features even more attractions, parks, and restaurants along the Hillsborough River and Garrison Channel.
