Burning Man Releases 2021 Theme: Terra Incognita

Burning Man has released the theme for their 2021 event: Terra Incognita.

Terra Incognita Explained

It has been some time since attendees of Burning Man were able to come together again under the desert skies to appreciate life, love, music, and art. Fortunately, Burning Man has released the theme for their 2021 event, Terra Incognita. Terra Incognita translates to “unknown land,” a very appropriate name for this year’s event given the recent drought in festivals and large gatherings. The theme of this year’s event is explained as, “an invitation to emerge from our collective isolation, to explore the unfamiliar contours of a changed world, and to reimagine ourselves, our community, and our culture in ways that might not have been possible before this period of plague and pause.”

Although it is still unclear whether or not Burning Man will happen this year, Burning Man organizers are showing signs of a strong possibility. This year apart for Burning Man attendees has “afforded us all a chance to step back and reconsider what it is we build and why.” Hopefully, the announcement of Burning Man’s 2021 theme will lead to a scheduled event, but for now, we will just have to wait and see.
