Mexico-Based Burning Man Soundcamps To Host A New Year’s Eve Celebration In Cabo

Today, Hotel El Ganzo and Crania, a hotel and nightclub in San José del Cabo, Mexico, have announced a unique New Year’s Eve event partnership with Mexico City-based Burning Man soundcamps Mayan Warrior and MAXA.

The New Year’s celebration will transform Cabo’s iconic beaches with intimate DJ sessions from world-renowned artists, wellness activities, art installations, culinary experiences, and more.

Hotel El Ganzo’s New Year’s programming features some of today’s most celebrated electronic artists, including Innervisions co-founder Dixon, Maeve label boss Mano Le Tough, rising NYC artist Julya Karma, and even more acts who will be announced at a later date.

The event will serve as a fundraiser for both Mayan Warrior and MAXA, whose presence at Burning Man each year showcases modern Mexican electronic music and pays “respect to the deep and ancient sources” from which its culture has grown.

This event also marks a note of hope for Mayan Warrior after their famous art car was tragically destroyed in a fire earlier this year. Clearly the collective is still intent on producing events, and perhaps are raising funds to build another art car that will be as special as the original.

Hotel El Ganzo’s 69-room beachfront hotel will offer a fitting location for the event. Initially built as an “epicenter for art and culture,” El Ganzo lays claim to live artist installations, a “top-of-the-line” recording studio dubbed El Ganzo Records, and even residency programs for musicians.

Throughout the two-day programming, attendees can dive even further into “multi-sensory journeys” afforded by Crania’s restaurant and venue, which was started as an extreme reclamation project with repurposed cranes and art.

Crania’s NYE “culinary experience” will be guided by chef Javier Ornelas and will also include cooking and mixology courses from notable chefs and restaurants across the Baja Peninsula.

Hotel El Ganzo’s New Year’s programming will take place on December 29 and 31, 2023. Additional details will be released in the coming weeks. Hotel packages are now available here.
