Following Album Speculation, Calvin Harris’ ’96 Months’ Is Just A Compilation

After a cryptic social media post made fans hopeful for a new album from Calvin Harris, they’ll have to wait a little while longer for another studio LP from the electronic music superstar.

Yesterday, Harris had fans clamoring for answers when he took to Instagram to share what appeared to be cover art for a new musical project titled, 96 Months

He didn’t share any other information in the since-deleted and reposted art reveal, and fans were quick to speculate that the award-winning producer and DJ was preparing to release a sequel to his breakthrough 2012 LP, 18 Months.

Others were more realistic in their analysis, suggesting that the mystery project is merely a compilation of previously released singles, despite its titular homage to the era-defining album, which featured hits like “Feel So Close,” “We Found Love,” and “Sweet Nothing.”

The latter group of fans was correct. Though 96 Months is hidden from Harris’ Spotify profile in some countries, the new project is, in fact, a compilation of the artist’s biggest hits, dating back to 2018.

Included in the 17-track compilation are nostalgic tracks like “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa, “This Is What You Came For,” and “How Deep Is Your Love,” as well as more recent releases like the Grammy-winning “Miracle” with Ellie Goulding, and Harris’ latest with the awarded British vocalist, “Free.”

However, there is still hope for a new album from Harris, who hasn’t released a full-length studio album since the second installment in his famous Funk Wav Bounces series dropped in 2022. The artist has teased loads of other new music this year, including an as-yet-unconfirmed collaboration with pop superstar Miley Cyrus.

Though the wait for a new album continues, fans can tide themselves over with a trip through Harris’ biggest recent tunes in 96 Months below.
