After a long break from releasing new music, Calvin Harris is set to drop his new album, entitled Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2, in Summer of 2022. A short teaser on social media promises a funky disco groove that goes perfectly with the ocean scene and a caption that simply says “Friday.”
With such a simple caption there is no indication of exactly what is coming this Friday, May 27. A new single is likely, but there could also be more information such as the release date for the album.
The new album is the first full volume released under the Calvin Harris name since Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 in 2017. After so much time off there are sure to be some major hits and insane collaborations coming.
Harris has a major summer in the works with several performances all over the world. He is set to play major European festivals like Creamfields, Sziget, and EXIT. He also has a residency at Ibiza hotspot Ushuaïa beginning in June 2022.
Harris also has several internationally popular tracks like “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa and “This is What You Came For” with Rihanna. Both tracks have over a billion listens on Spotify showing that Harris’s ability to produce bangers is unmatched.
