Calvin Harris Says He May Stop DJing In The Next 10 Years

Calvin Harris has revealed that he may quit DJing within the next ten years.

In an interview with UK radio station Capital Dance last week, the Scottish EDM superstar pulled back the curtain on his future career plans in between quips about “anti-aging supplements” on the heels of his 40th birthday last month.

“I always said that once I get past 50, I can’t see me DJing,” Harris told radio hosts MistaJam and Rag’n’Bone Man. “I’d prefer to be in the studio making tunes.”

When asked about Carl Cox, who is still touring heavily for performances across the globe at the age of 61, Harris said, “It’s a certain type of DJing though, isn’t it? The more commercial end [of DJing], it can get a little bit suspect.”

Harris added that once he’s done DJing, he’d like to use his newfound studio time to produce for other artists.

“I think that’s where the majority of my talent lies, making something sound good,” he shared. “So I would like to make other people’s records sound good.”

Though the clock on Calvin Harris’ performance career may be ticking away, fans will still have ample opportunity to catch the Grammy-winning artist before he’s gone for good.

He’s already confirmed nearly 30 upcoming tour dates in 2024 alone, including residencies at LIV Las Vegas and Ushuaïa Ibiza, in addition to festival appearances at Ultra Miami and Germany’s SonneMondSterne Festival.
