GRAMMY-nominated DJ and production powerhouses, CamelPhat, are making waves with the release of the 16-track album, Spiritual Milk, dropping today on their own label, When Stars Align.
Following the resounding success of their 2020 album Dark Matter, Spiritual Milk takes listeners on an odyssey full of highs and lows, telling a story you can see through CamelPhat’s evolution and groundbreaking sound.
Emerging from a much-needed period of isolation, members Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala are back in the clubs and exploring the world through music once again. This new album is an embodiment of their joy for life and a reminder never to take anything for granted.
The album will captivate you right from the very beginning with the gradual build of “Hope” featuring Max Milner, then continuing to raise the bar with a beautiful piano intro that pushes us right into the high-energy of “Rennen,” a collaboration with Sohn.
Not to be missed is “The Sign” with Tale of Us member, Anyma, an enigmatic journey, and “Embers” with Shimza and Julia Church, a euphoric masterpiece.
The album also features the contagious familiar acid techno style of “Compute” featuring Ali Love, which ingeniously samples Kraftwerk‘s iconic “Computer Love.”
CamelPhat had some passionate words to share about Spiritual Milk stating, “We’ve felt a lot less pressure delivering this record possibly due to the fact it’s on our label (WSA), but also we’re at a point in our career where we can possibly afford to be more expressive and less fearful about what other people think. It has definitely come from the heart and feels honest both as writers and musicians.”
