The Godfather of disco, Cerrone, and modern disco king Purple Disco Machine just collaborated for the first time on “Summer Lovin'”. The single follows the news of Cerrone’s new album, Cerrone by Cerrone, which drops October 14 and features 16 reworks mixed by Cerrone himself.
The track is a classic in the making. With a groovy beat and nostalgic synths, “Summer Lovin’” brings back the early days of disco while remaining current. There are no vocals surprisingly which makes the song easy to listen to and transition into a funky set.
Cerrone said of the collaboration, “I have had the privilege of being sampled a lot of times throughout the years, and this track means my music now crosses 5 generations… I was immediately seduced by Purple Disco Machine’s work as soon as I first heard it.”
Purple Disco Machine has taken the world by storm and was chosen by Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga to create official remixes for some of their most popular tracks. His song “Hypnotized” has over 300 million plays and is certified double platinum.
The forefather of disco, French artist Cerrone, is known for his massive 70 hits “Supernature” and “Love in C Minor”. His music is legendary and has been sampled by Daft Punk, The Beastie Boys, and Run-DMC.
