Charli XCX’s endless ‘Brat summer’ will roll on well into 2025, as London’s new LIDO Festival has announced that the pop superstar will curate a special “Party Girl” takeover for the festival’s second weekend on June 14.
The one-day show at East London’s Victoria Park will mark Charli’s first-ever UK festival headline performance and feature support performances from several of her high-profile Brat collaborators, including renowned superproducer A.G. Cook, critically acclaimed synth-pop DJ Kelly Lee Owens, and electroclash revivalist The Dare, alongside further indie favorites like Bladee, The Japanese House, and 070 Shake.
Even before Charli’s rave-inspired sixth studio album was released in June, previous editions of the globetrotting Party Girl series stirred up Brat hysteria from Brooklyn to Ibiza, featuring a mix of high-energy DJ sets and live acts at each pop-up stop.
Now, its upcoming London edition serves as an emphatic exclamation point on the British artist’s career-defining 2024, which saw Brat nominated for seven Grammy Awards, including three in the honors’ Dance/Electronic categories.
Before Charli brings Party Girl to Victoria Park, LIDO Festival’s inaugural weekend will feature a takeover from Jamie xx on June 7. The award-winning producer will headline the latest iteration of his curated club residency, The Floor, with additional performances from underground electronic and indie-pop stalwarts Arca, Sampha, Romy, Panda Bear, DJ Harvey, John Glacier, DJ Gigola, Wookie, and more.
Helmed by AEG Presents, who bring London’s beloved All Points East festival to Victoria Park each year, LIDO Festival will take shape as a series of one-day festivals throughout the month of June.
