Chase & Status Celebrate BRIT Award With Live Performance At Ceremony

UK drum & bass duo Chase & Status accepted their Producer of the Year award and performed their high-energy track, “Disconnect,” at the 2024 BRIT Awards on Saturday.

Though their win was officially announced last week, the award ceremony honoring the UK’s leading figures in popular music was a significant milestone for the London-based group comprising Saul Milton (Chase) and Wil Kennard (Status).

“We’re proud to represent British music. We are proud to champion new talent always,” Kennard said in his acceptance speech at London’s O2 Arena. “But mostly tonight, we proudly represent drum & bass music. This is for you. This is for the fans.”

Fresh from a viral performance for Boiler Room, the duo released their 10-track LP 2 RUFF, Vol. 1, in November 2023. Featuring the global smash “Baddadan,” the album has spent over 15 consecutive weeks in the UK Top 10.

Chase & Status have become the first artists since 2010 to have four singles simultaneously charting in the UK Top 40, including “Baddadan,” “Liquor & Cigarettes,” “Selecta” and “Disconnect”—the latter featuring acclaimed dance music vocalist Becky Hill, a two-time BRIT winner herself.

Chase & Status performed “Disconnect” live at the awards ceremony with Hill, reaching television audiences across the UK. “Disconnect” has garnered over 48 million UK streams to date.

Chase & Status’ Producer of the Year award also honors their work in the last 12 months for acts like CASISDEAD, Goddard, Luude, Becky Hill and Bugzy Malone. Since forming in 2003, they have worked with many other global acts, including Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Craig David, and more.
