Fan-favorite tech house producer Cloonee has just dropped off one of his most hotly anticipated tracks of the year. “Sippin’ Yak” is out now on his own Hellbent Records imprint.
After first surfacing during his set at The BPM Festival in Costa Rica in January, Cloonee’s “Sippin’ Yak” arrived to unsurprisingly widespread acclaim late last week. Today, the track has officially taken the No. 1 spot in Beatport‘s Top 100 chart.
Cloonee has made the coveted ID a cornerstone of his groove-laden DJ sets as of late, and even before its official release, the bouncy, hip-hop-infused track achieved viral status, to the tune of over 30 million combined views on social media.
Packed to the brim with thumping kick drums and Cloonee’s notably sexy tech house grit, “Sippin’ Yak” follows the British producer’s “To The Beat” featuring Dances, which has already racked up well over one million Spotify streams—nothing new for the eclectic tastemaker who has quickly risen to the forefront of the house scene with hits like “Mi Amor” and “Fine Night.”
Following his recent successes with “To The Beat” and now “Sippin’ Yak,” Cloonee will carry this momentum straight into Miami Music Week. He’s set to headline the first-ever Hellbent Records takeover of Miami’s esteemed Club Space tomorrow night.
Cloonee’s landmark shows will continue well into the summer with appearances at both weekends of Coachella, a six-date residency at Las Vegas’ new LIV Beach day club, an NYC headline show, and further festival slots at Marco Carola’s Music On Festival, ÎLESONIQ, Creamfields and more.
