Club Space is continuing its relief efforts to support those affected by the recent earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela.
Last month, the world-famous Miami nightclub teamed up with the Global Empowerment Network (GEM) to offer donation add-ons with each ticket purchased for shows on the terrace, at The Ground, and at Floyd, and pledged to match every donation one-to-one.
Now, after outdoing its original commitment with a nearly $22,000 donation—more than tripling the almost $5,500 raised by clubbers—at the end of August, Space is continuing its donation match pledge through September 30.
Donation add-ons are available with each ticket purchased via DICE. Those who can’t make it to the club can still contribute with a donation on Space’s general donation page on DICE. All funds will go to GEM’s disaster-relief efforts for the people of Colombia and Venezuela.
Tragedy struck Venezuela on June 24 when a 7.5-magnitude earthquake caused widespread damage throughout northwestern and central Venezuela, including major urban areas in Caracas and elsewhere throughout the state of La Guaira. As of last week, more than 6,500 people were reported dead, more than 225,000 were injured, and tens of thousands remain missing.
Weeks later, on August 10, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit western Colombia, causing extensive damage to communities in Chocó, Pereira, and Cali, killing at least 331 people and injuring over 4,500. At least 240 people remain missing as of last week.
“We continue to wish the people of Colombia, Venezuela, and their families safety and peace,” Club Space shared in a statement posted to Instagram last month. “We will continue to try to our best to do our part here in Miami.”
