Miami’s Club Space is back.
Today, the South Florida nightlife institution announced on social media that it will fully reopen this Thursday, September 19, with a headline performance from Peggy Gou following the venue’s three-month closure for renovations this summer.
The South Korean DJ-producer will be joined on Club Space’s famous terrace by Catalan DJ John Talabot and Berlin-based artist Alinka, as well as club residents Ms. Mada and Sister System. The show will kick off the club’s “reopening marathon,” running through this Sunday, September 22. Throughout the weekend, Club Space will host additional performances from Green Velvet, DJ Seinfeld, Francis Mercier, FISHER, and more.
Club Space has been closed since June to make various infrastructure adjustments in compliance with Miami fire safety code after the construction of the E11EVEN Hotel and Residences next door rendered three of the club’s emergency exits futile. Its first and sub-floor venues, The Ground and Floyd, will also reopen this weekend.
Speaking to Resident Advisor, club co-owner and Link Miami Rebels co-founder Coloma Kaboomsky said, “We are over the moon to have Club Space back, as it has been dearly missed all summer. We are grateful for all the people who played a key role in getting us through this challenging time and allowing Space to continue being a cultural icon at the heart of downtown Miami.”
In a statement, Club Space thanked the City of Miami, its partners, and US Construction Corp. “for working with our team to reopen our home.”
