Daft Punk have shared “GLBTM (Studio Outtakes),” the second new track from the highly anticipated ten-year anniversary edition of their final album, Random Access Memories.
In a release statement, the track is presented as “an early and raw version” of Random Access Memories’ opening track, “Give Life Back To Music.”
The statement said, “These outtakes can be viewed as a research record—listeners can hear multiple inspirations and multiple directions of what the song could have evolved into before Daft Punk chose the part to focus on to finalize what we’ve been knowing as ‘Give Life Back To Music’ for 10 years.”
Random Access Memories 10th Anniversary Edition will include nine unreleased tracks, promising to take listeners behind the scenes of the celebrated album’s creation via early demos of its iconic songs.
The anniversary edition will serve as the legendary French duo’s final studio album.
“GLBTM (Studio Outtakes)” follows Daft Punk’s release of “The Writing of Fragments of Time,” with longtime collaborator Todd Edwards last month.
The full expanded version of Random Access Memories 10th Anniversary Edition will be out on May 12 and is available for pre-order here.
