Deadbeats and Brownies & Lemonade are taking their drum & bass alliance to the next level.
After rolling out four new collaboratively released drum & bass singles from artists like Bensley & DNMO, Aktive, Blanke, and Subsonic, the two powerhouse bass brands have announced a groundbreaking compilation album, serving as a monument to the “drum & bass revolution” sweeping the U.S.
Perfected over two-and-a-half years, Deadbeats + DNBNL Present: D&B is slated for release this weekend, showcasing a collection of tracks from some of the genre’s most influential artists, including Zeds Dead and REAPER, whose lead track “Back Bus” highlights the unique synergy between the Deadbeats and Brownies & Lemonade labels.
The compilation is bolstered by further contributions from Friction (“What I Need”), Audioscribe (“Flow”) and ShockOne (“Don’t Think”), who offer a journey through the genre’s modern soundscape.
Even more diverse genre offerings include IMANU’s D&B remix of his original track “It’s Our Destiny,” AEON:MODE’s “Touch” and Kumarion’s “See the Sky,” plus a sweet rework of STS9’s classic “New Dawn, New Day,” symbolizing drum & bass’ adaptability and crossover into the live band performance realm.
Further underscoring the creative energy of the collaboration is the compilation’s cover artwork, crafted by Zeds Dead’s Hooks–AKA Zachary Rapp-Rovan–who has developed a burgeoning career in the visual arts over the last year.
Both brands are pulling out all the stops for a legendary DNBNL party at Dave & Buster’s in Hollywood, California, tomorrow, January 24, to celebrate the album’s release. Organizers have promised plenty of “secret guests” and “drum and bass all night.” Tickets are sold out, but fans can text DNB to (323) 332-1651 to join the waitlist.
Following the album’s release, the Deadbeats and Brownies & Lemonade collaboration will continue with a special DNBNL stage at Deadbeats Backyard Jamboree this July.
Deadbeats + DNBNL Present: D&B will arrive this Friday, January 26, 2024. Fans can pre-save the compilation album here.
