Defected Records Announces Strategic Partnership With Artist IP Experts, The Circuit Group

Today, esteemed house music label Defected Records has announced a strategic partnership with The Circuit Group, an enterprise led by artist managers that seeks to “build business opportunities around artists’ intellectual property” (IP).

The new agreement will see The Circuit Group provide Defected with relevant guidance as the UK-based label looks to build their presence in North America, with Defected in turn supporting The Circuit Group as they expand their influence in the UK, Europe and other locations abroad.

“Defected Records is without a doubt one of the most respected label brands in the world,” The Circuit Group co-founder and CEO Dean Wilson said in a press release.

“Working closely with the label head Wez Saunders and his team will be invaluable to us as we continue to establish our new vision across the music landscape,” he continued. “Circuit and Defected are creating a partnership that helps artists build longer lasting, higher impact, more profitable careers across their labels, publishing, events and brand ventures.”

Though The Circuit Group only launched earlier this month following a merger between artist management companies Seven20 and AYITA, it aims to accomplish this goal by partnering with artists to develop “business verticals” in fields like recorded music, publishing, merchandise, Web3 technologies, and other “cutting-edge” music innovations.

The Circuit Group has already partnered with artists like Chris Lake, deadmau5, FISHER, HoneyLuv, and NERO.

Defected Records has held a revered status in the global house music community for decades, putting out chart-topping hits from the likes of Jamie Jones, John Summit, Hannah Wants, CamelPhat, and many more.

However, the new agreement will help Defected improve their technology expertise, IP monetization, and brand building across the company’s many sublabels like D4 D4NCE, Glitterbox, and DFTD.
