Q-Dance has announced the new theme and anthem creator for Defqon.1 2024 as part of their Kick-Off livestream, which aired last Friday.
Attracting over 100,000 fans to the Netherlands with a lineup of over 350 artists last year, Defqon.1 has cemented its place as a global hard dance mecca and is wasting no time in prepping for what is sure to be an even bigger 2024.
While last year’s theme took attendees down the “Path of the Warrior,” Q-Dance will focus on the “Power of the Tribe” in 2024. An accompanying announcement on Instagram reads, “Forged in the fires of dedication, we rise as one. Warriors, prepare for 4 days of power.”
During the livestream, Q-Dance also announced that the artists tasked with creating a song to encompass this new “Power of the Tribe” theme will be Dutch hardstyle duo Sound Rush.
Every year for Defqon.1, one artist is selected to create an official Defqon.1 “anthem.” The honor is a cherished tradition among the festival’s dedicated fan base and a notable accomplishment for artists in the hard dance universe.
Previous anthem artists include legends like Headhunterz, Wildstylez, and last year’s pick, Sub Zero Project.
In addition to an all-encompassing festival anthem, individual stage anthems are also created. Last year, Sound Rush were tasked with creating an anthem for the festival’s UV stage in collaboration with Atmozfears.
Q-Dance also announced that iconic Defqon.1 moments like the Opening Ceremony, Warrior Workout and their famed POWER HOUR will all return in 2024.
The recap video for last year’s POWER HOUR—a massive feat of choreography at the festival’s mainstage—also premiered during the Defqon.1 Kick-Off livestream.
