Detour Discotheque, The World’s Most Remote Disco, Is Heading To A New Location In Scotland

The world’s most remote disco, Detour Discotheque, is heading to a tiny Scottish island to brighten up the “Dark Sky Community” with their 70s-style, New York disco.

The destination disco will settle on the Scottish Isle of Coll, often called the “Dark-sky Community,” as one of only two places in Scotland recognized for its clear views of the night sky.

The party will be headlined by DJ Auntie Flo and Glasgow synth band Free Love accompanied by a special performance from Coll’s Cosmic Ceilidh Band.

There are plenty of activities including the cosmic disco, glamping or camping, wild swimming, a local market, and stargazing.

Detour Discotheque was founded after magazine editor and DJ Jonny Ensall took a trip to the Westfjords in Iceland. He was invited to the annual Hjónaball, a couple’s dance held in the village hall full of Icelandic music, dancing, and plenty of vodka.

This experience inspired him to debut the disco in Þingeyri, Iceland in 2022.

Detour Discotheque in Scotland takes place September 22-23 with a capacity of just 250. The first release is already sold out. The second release will go on sale soon, so sign up for the mailing list here to be notified when it drops.
