The world’s tallest DJ, DJ Diesel also known as Shaq, announced this week he is throwing his own large-scale music festival in 2023.
Shaq has always championed rave and DJ culture, discovering his love for DJing at the age of 14 when he saw the rap legends Public Enemy perform live. After that, he bought his own decks and has been spinning ever since, even dropping a well-received rap album, Shaq Diesel in 1993.
On the electronic front, he made his festival debut at Tomorrowland in 2015. Now he’s played sets at major events like Lost Lands and EDC Las Vegas, and he’s spearheaded his own event series, Shaq’s Fun House.
But now the larger-than-life personality and artist is venturing into the music festival curation space as he writes on his social media, “Fuck it, planning my own festival.”
He continued on to clarify the event will take place later this year and that the lineup has not been fully solidified, asking in the comments, “Who we booking? We’re not messin around this year.”
Plenty of top electronic music stars have responded with interest in playing at the impending festival including Wuki, Kaskade, 12th Planet, Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Deathpact, Champagne Drip, and even Gene Farris and Lil Texas.
The exact date and details surrounding the new festival from DJ Diesel have not yet been released, but check out the announcement of the event below:
