DIESUKI, a one-of-a-kind anime-dubstep crossover event, is making its way to Exchange LA next month.
Part interactive cosplay gathering, part anime-driven rave, the burgeoning event series from local promoter Faustian Society will turn up the bass for a special dark edition of its flagship event at the downtown Los Angeles nightclub on Sunday, October 6, pairing dastardly dubstep with authentic anime visuals and other themed experiences.
Falling on the last day of LA Comic Con, DIESUKI: Rise of the Oni is billed as an “audio/visual journey into the UNDERWORLD of BASS,” complete with performances from hauntingly heavy dubstep artists Hi I’m Ghost, FelMax, SEKTOR 8, and a to-be-announced secret headliner. Previous DIESUKI headliners include Virtual Riot, Dirtyphonics, Bandlez, and more.
Local artists JPEG and Grindhaus Selektor will provide additional support. Check out the official announcement below.
Elsewhere, bass-loving anime fans can sip drinks at DIESUKI’s popular boba bar, play Japanese arcade games, snap pics at themed photo ops, and shop a full vending experience from local anime merchandise company, The Antipath Co.
Popular anime cosplayer and streamer Lynie Nicole has been named as the event’s official “oni girl,” and will cosplay as the folkloric Japanese demon character from which DIESUKI: Rise of the Oni pulls its unique theme. DIESUKI’s Demon Maid Squad dancers are also slated to perform.
Tickets for DIESUKI: Rise of the Oni are now available at exchangela.com.
