To the Timucuan of north central Florida, the Suwannee was a river sacred to their Sun God. To them, the Moon of the Suwannee put the colors of the rainbow into the earth. The Sun drew the colors out in flowers. To loyal music lovers, a 500-acre campground titled the Spirit of the Suwannee has been home to explore and express themselves every Halloween weekend at Hulaween.

Colorado-based bluegrass-influenced jam band The String Cheese Incident touched down in Florida back in 2013 creating a spooky multi-genre adult playground where you could get lost in the woods all weekend as you find yourself, create memories, and make connections with strangers that become family. This year you have the opportunity to see some of your favorite artists perform while also wandering around discovering new artists you’ve never heard of, that is one of the many beautiful things about Hulaween, the music options.

This year electronic music is coming in hot with legendary producers like Fisher, Clozee,  Jauz, Mikey Lion, Liquid Stranger is bringing a Wakaan takeover, LP Giobbi is bringing a Femme House takeover, and Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE are going b2b under the name Gigantic NGHTMRE.

If you want to dive into an unknown world of music and try something different there are plenty of funky bands who always come to rock out under the live oaks. Bands like Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Manic Focus Live band, the Disco Biscuits, Twiddle, STS9, and many more artists take live instruments and make the funk happen. Also performing this Hulaween is some favorite household names everyone loves like Portugal The Man, Two Feet, Sylvan Esso, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Louis The Child.

Although Hulaween offers over 100 acts to discover and Spirit Lake offers endless amounts of interactive art you get lost in one of the most anticipated traditions the dedicated Hulaween family plans are the theme of the Festival as well as costumes that go with the annual theme. This year you can aspect for scary and funky to join each other hand and hand as the theme will be “The Suwannee Disco Show.”
