Insomniac Events has just announced that Dreamstate SoCal, its preeminent trance festival, will be making a move away from the NOS Event Center and dock at a new location: the Queen Mary Waterfront in Long Beach, California.
A post on Instagram cited a need for increased space as a central reason for the move.
The Dreamstate announcement added that the new venue will allow for on-site after-parties that extend beyond the festival’s 1AM end time, as well as premium hotel stays onboard the Queen Mary—the historic ship for which the event space gets its name.
The move for Dreamstate follows a continuing trend that has seen Insomniac begin to work their way back towards the city of Los Angeles and away from the NOS Event Center, the San Bernardino venue that for years hosted the bulk of Insomniac’s SoCal events including Escape Halloween and Beyond Wonderland.
Just a few weeks ago, Insomniac also announced that they will host a new bass festival, Apocalypse Zombieland, at the Queen Mary this fall—following two successful editions of its Day Trip festival in the same location.
HARD Summer, another well-known Insomniac festival, is due to be held at Exposition Park, just outside of the LA Memorial Coliseum in 2023. Dreamstate and Factory 93’s collaborative event Interstellar Festival will happen on the LA Waterfront at Berth 46 next month.
Dreamstate SoCal 2023 will take place November 17-18, 2023. Tickets have not yet been released, but more information will become available at the festival’s official website in the coming months.
