SOFI TUKKER and Brazilian distillery Novo Fogo have teamed up to release ENERGIA, a sparkling organic mate tea.
In a joint Instagram post, SOFI TUKKER revealed that they created this drink with Novo Fogo, inspired by Sofi Hawley-Weld’s Brazilian roots, to help themselves and their fans stay energized at their countless shows and with their busy touring schedules.
Mate is a specialty, an herbal tea hailing from South and Latin America containing caffeine. A great alternative to coffee or other processed energy drinks, each can contains 42-71mg of naturally occurring caffeine from the mate tea.
The name ENERGIA comes from the SOFI TUKKER hit of the same name.
Sofi Hawley-Weld (Sofi of SOFI Tukker) has been vocal about her sobriety while playing shows and how that has helped her in the music creation process.
“I love to be in environments where people are enjoying all kinds of drinks. Even though I’m not drinking alcohol, I’m still at the party, having the time of my life. I’d like everyone to feel welcome, whether they enjoy alcohol or not, to stay up and be themselves while dancing with us,” said Hawley-Weld.
There are two flavors that the duo have released as ENERGIA, original and passion fruit (also labeled as DRINKEE, another SOFI TUKKER classic).
The duo have decided to partner with Novo Fogo for this drink, not only because of its taste, but what the distillery stands for as well. The company contains an all-female distiller team and the company is focused on sustainability and ethics when it comes to its drinks.
