Elon Musk And Grimes’ Third Child Is Named “Techno Mechanicus”

Techno’s global influence apparently even extends to billionaire CEOs.

On Saturday, Elon Musk confirmed that he and former partner Grimes have a third child together—and music fans are sure to get a kick out of the child’s name: Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed Tau.

The news was confirmed when Musk responded to a post on X (FKA Twitter) that names the pair’s three children as outlined in Musk’s latest biography.

This is the first time that Musk and Grimes have made the news of their third child public. The X and Tesla CEO had his first two children with Canadian experimental artist Grimes in 2020 and 2022, named “X Æ A-Xii” and “Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.”

The news follows controversy between Musk and Grimes. Last week, Grimes released a since-deleted statement explaining that she had not yet been allowed to see her son, according to Pitchfork.

After Musk became the father of twins with one of his employees, Shivon Zilis, Musk and Grimes separated while Grimes was expecting their second child last year. The statement asked that Zilis “unblock her” and that Musk allow her to see her son.

After speaking with Zillis, Grimes tweeted an apology that reads, “This wasn’t her fault, plz don’t be angry at her! We respect each other a lot and we’re excited to become friends and have the kids grow up together.”

She continued, “I wish I could show u how cute little Techno is but my priority rn is keeping my babies out of the public eye, Plz respect that at this time.”

Musk’s new biography will hit bookstore shelves tomorrow, September 12.
