Faithless is hitting the road for a full tour for the first time in nearly a decade.
The legendary UK electronic group behind 1990s dance classics like “Insomnia” and “God Is a DJ” has announced its fall 2024 “Champion Sound” tour in support of its forthcoming eighth album of the same name.
The 21-date UK and European run will kick off in Edinburgh, Scotland, on November 1 and run through December 14, closing in Copenhagen, Denmark. Faithless’ surviving members, Sister Bliss and Rollo, will be joined by a full band on each date of the tour. Support performances will come from special guests Tinlicker on select dates. “Faithless Family. We’re so excited to announce our full European tour later this year,” the group wrote on Instagram. “We can’t wait to dance with as many of you as possible.”
Earlier this summer, Faithless returned to the live stage for the first time in eight years, making several landmark festival appearances at the UK’s Glastonbury, Wilderness Festival, and Camp Bestival, where they returned to their trademark live band performance format for the first time in nearly a decade.
Billed as an “homage to Maxi and a celebration of all that is wonderful about the genre they redefined,” the shows featured special tributes to late Faithless frontman and dance music icon Maxi Jazz, who died in December 2022 after a longstanding illness.
Speaking to DJ Mag about Faithless’ return, Sister Bliss said, “Obviously [Maxi] won’t be there with us, but he’ll be there in spirit, and so the whole thing is a very new and different thing for us. I really hope people are going to get stuck in and dance, and really lose themselves in the music, because that’s what people have always done at a Faithless gig.”
Faithless has yet to announce a release date for Champion Sound at the time of writing. Last month, the group shared its new single, “Find A Way” featuring Suli Breaks, marking the first offering from the forthcoming LP.
