The on-fire British producer and songwriter, Fred Again.. never takes a break from pouring his everything into his music and this time he’s sharing that energy with the legendary musician, composer, and record producer Brian Eno.
Together, they are taking on the world head first with their new collaborative album, Secret Life, dropping today on Four Tet’s label Text Records.
Fred Again… has not left the spotlight since he released Actual Life 3, in November 2022. Most recently he continues to gain momentum after his surprise closing headline spot at Coachella alongside Skrillex and Four Tet. A set that is the latest in a series of pop-up shows the three stars orchestrated together in London and New York City.
When describing Fred Again.. music is often characterized by its emotive and introspective qualities, with a focus on melody, harmony, and texture. His compositions often feature intricate rhythms, lush synthesizer pads, and chopped-up vocal samples from his close friends, creating a unique and captivating sonic landscape.
At times, his music can be quite minimal and ambient, while at other times it can be more upbeat and dancefloor-oriented, reflecting his background in pop music production.
Sharing a lot of the same characteristics, Brain Eno is considered to be one of the most influential figures in ambient music and has also made notable contributions to the fields of rock, electronic, and generative music.
Eno began his career over 50 years ago as a member of the glam rock band Roxy Music, but later left to pursue a solo career. He has released numerous solo albums, collaborated with a wide range of musicians, and produced albums for artists such as David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, and Coldplay.
When anticipating the release Fred Again.. took to Instagram to share, “I absolutely love Brian. So much. I’ve been so lucky to have him as my friend and mentor since I was 16. And the older I get the more I appreciate how rare and wonderful his mind is. Making this was I think the most therapeutic experience I’ve had in music. I’ll explain a bit more why when I understand it a bit better I think?”
