Fred again.., Lil Yachty And Overmono Share Anticipated Track “stayinit”

Fresh from a furious run of appearances in New York City earlier this month, Fred again.., Lil Yachty and Overmono have today released their anticipated collaboration “stayinit.”

The group first debuted the new track to a massive crowd at Overmono’s Knockdown Center gig at the beginning of the month. Fred again.. and Lil Yachty popped up as surprise guests at the Welsh breakbeat duo’s set in the days following Fred again..’s Grammy double, turning the affair into another of Fred again..’s beloved, anything goes back-to-back sets.

Rapper Lil Yachty contributed live vocals for the song, which he hadn’t heard until it was booming out of the Knockdown Center sound system.

An incredible reaction from the crowd would spur the trio of acts to record “stayinit” later in the week, soon performing it a second time during a livestreamed set for The Lot Radio in Brooklyn.

Melding UK garage with hip-hop, the bouncy breakbeat track features emotional vocals from Lil Yachty, encouraging listeners with the words, “You’ve got a life, stay in it,” before stuttering drumbeats open the floodgates for a wave of club-laced euphoria.

Fred again.., Lil Yachty and Overmono have also shared a music video for “stayinit,” featuring footage of Lil Yachty hearing the finished track for the first time.

“Hiiiii we haven’t done a video in ages but I thought it would be nice to try and capture the moment the yachty hears this song on a properrrr system for the first time!” Fred again.. wrote on YouTube. “Like I’m pretty sure that before this he might have only heard it thru his phone lol… And this tune is obviously builtttt for rooms and sound like this… So it was fun to get to play it to him like that.”
