Ganja White Night will DJ in total darkness at an intimate no-phones show in Minneapolis next month.
The Belgian bass duo, known for their unique wobble dubstep sound, today announced a DJ set at the city’s 600-capacity Granada Theatre on October 24, set to kick off a three-night stand in Minneapolis for the sold-out third edition of the group’s annual Wobbleween weekender at The Armory.
Forgoing heavy stage production and the group’s famous “Mr. Wobble” visuals in favor of a sound-first experience, the limited-capacity event will feature a 360-degree stage setup, a no-phones policy, and no lights of any kind.
“We haven’t done a no phones no lights dark room DJ set since 2019 and this felt like the right time to bring it back, before Wobbleween in a city that has supported us from the beginning,” Ganja White Night members Charlie “Erwan” Dodson and Benjamin “Bamby” Bayeul wrote on social media today.
The 2019 dark room show, an afterparty for the reggae-meets-experimental-bass duo’s fall tour stop at Chicago’s famous Aragon Ballroom, sold out its original 250-capacity venue in just five minutes before moving to the larger Concord Music Hall.
Last month, Ganja White Night teamed up with rapidly rising bass artist Tape B to release their highly anticipated collaborative single, “Ganja Tape,” on the duo’s own SubCarbon Records. The track marked their second original release of 2024, following the release of the Vladimir Cauchemar collaboration, “Hunters,” in June.
Wobbleween will return to The Armory on October 25-26 with nightly headline sets from Ganja White Night and support performances from Dimension, Apashe, Hairitage B2B Space Wizard, The Widdler, and more.
Tickets for Ganja White Night’s DJ set at the Granada Theatre will go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, October 14, at 12PM CT. Stay tuned to the group’s social media channels for more details.
