Gesaffelstein’s First Track In Five Years To Arrive This Friday

After sharing initial details on his comeback album, GAMMA, Gesaffelstein has returned to announce that the LP’s lead single, “Hard Dreams,” will arrive this Friday, March 1, 2024.

Yesterday, the distinguished French producer–otherwise known as Mike Lévy–shared the news with another cryptic teaser video on Instagram. The short video clip shows Gesaffelstein, in his usual glittered garb, falling backwards in a slow-motion, Matrix-esque pose.

“Hard Dreams” will mark the famously avant-garde artist’s first release in nearly five years, following a remix of ROSALÍA’s “A Palé,” shared in November 2019.

GAMMA will serve as Gesaffelstein’s first full-length LP in the same period. His last album, the ever-influential Hyperion, arrived in March 2019, featuring contributions from Pharell Williams and The Weeknd–on the wildly popular track “Lost in the Fire.”

Gesaffelstein first announced GAMMA earlier this month with a two-minute audiovisual teaser, listing 11 total tracks that will feature on the Skrillex-approved album, including titles like “Digital Slaves,” “The Urge” and “Emet,” among others.

Rumors of an upcoming Gesaffelstein album tour remain unconfirmed. However, the midtempo pioneer behind genre-defining hits like “Opr” and “Viol” will return to Coachella this April, where he delivered one of his last live performances in 2019.
