GG Magree is an artist who has never fit a particular mold. With adept prowess as a producer, vocalist, and DJ, she has the freedom to explore a plethora of different sounds and styles. Now, with her new single “Deja Reve,” the Australian-born crossover act is exploring heavy dance punk.
Conjuring grueling and ghastly aural electronica, the track maintains the danceable aesthetic via the implementation of a concise yet encompassing drum kit. Magree once again provides her own vocals, which break through frightening sonic concoction like a piece of sunlight through a thick cloud cover.
“Déjà-rêvé translates in French to ‘already dreamed.’ It’s basically the feeling of re-experiencing a dream you’ve had previously but fully awake, almost like a premonition. Some people are freaked out when this happens but to me, it’s so beautiful as you realize you’re more connected to yourself than you think,” says Magree.
